They are famous for their emormous migration, millions of butterflies strong, from Canada and Northern America south to California and Mexico in the winter. That is over 2000 miles travelled by by a butterfly with a wingspan as small as 3.7 inches!
In the UK, these beautiful creatures reside most notably in the South-West of England.
