In March 2024 I embarked on an Artist Residency in the Laikipia Region of Kenya. I spent the following 3 months exploring the wonders of the Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy and capturing the diverse wildlife that enhabited the area.
One morning on a sunrise game drive, our guide James spotted a lone lioness walking purposefully through the long, sandy grass... her eyes fixed on something in the distance.
We followed her up into the rocky outer crops before she disappeared into the bush. We later came to know that she had her small cubs hidden safely in the shelter provided by these rocky hills and was returning to them after what we suspected was a morning feeding.
