In March 2024 I embarked on an Artist Residency in the Laikipia Region of Kenya. I spent the following 3 months exploring the wonders of the Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy and capturing the diverse wildlife that enhabited the area.
This pastel blue bird was the second in a trilogy of drawings dedicated to raising awareness of the unprecedented decline in migratory bird population. The Eurasian Roller is a real treat to see. I was lucky enough to spot a pair, perched on an acacia tree whilst out on a game drive.
