In March 2024 I embarked on an Artist Residency in the Laikipia Region of Kenya. I spent the following 3 months exploring the wonders of the Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy and capturing the diverse wildlife that enhabited the area.
I was OBSESSED with these beautiful, mickey mouse earred zebras as soon as I saw one in the northern area of the conservancy. The delicate stripes, large rounded ears and white bellies of the Grevy's zebra separates them from the plain zebras. This drawing was inspired by my sighting of a Grevy blending in to a herd of plain zebras to avoid the threat of a nearby pride of lions.
This is an original wildlife art piece that will be sold framed.
